St. Augustine gardening fails

“Results! Why, man, I have gotten lots of results! I know several thousand things that won’t work!" Thomas Edison is reported to have said to his close friend, Walter S. Mallory. For Edison, as for gardeners, failures point the way to what works by showing what doesn't.

Update: What worked, what didn’t.

I'm happy to report that we've had a lot of success growing a lot of delicious vegetables here in our Saint Augustine suburban side yards and back yards. That said, some vegetables just failed, despite how much we wanted them to thrive.

We began growing our seedlings and collecting our fruit in early April.

It's now late April and we have the following plants going in containers. We'll update you on their progress and talk about the successes and setbacks we encounter with each one.
